The redesigned Seafront Promenade

It has been said in the past that Saint-Nazaire deliberately turned its back to the sea. But these old prejudices are no longer valid, and this is perfectly evident when you walk along boulevard Wilson and boulevard Albert 1er. This part of the seaside promenade, which is in fact very near to the city centre, has recently been redesigned and attracts crowds strolling, cycling, rollerblading or simply enjoying the sunshine on one of the over-dimensional wooden benches.

A bit further on, at the other end of the softly curved bay, two cafés in a very contemporary style are much appreciated as soon as the sun is out. They allow for perfect lazing, watching people strolling by or getting a good look at the typical fishing cabins which dot the coast on their spindly legs.
